Description
Three Wise Men Coffee
1kg Three Wise Men coffee.
A tribute to the birthplace of coffee. Â The coffee plant, Coffea arabica, originates in Ethiopia.
According to legend, the 9th-century goatherder Kaldi discovered the coffee plant after noticing the energizing effect the plant had on his flock, but the story did not appear in writing until 1671 and is probably not entirely true, but who wants to get in the way of a good story. From here the arabica coffee beans began their long journey from Ethiopia to the rest of the world.
Why We Use Three Ethiopian Coffees in Three Wise Men
Three Wise Men is built to showcase origin character rather than balance through contrast. Ethiopia is coffee’s birthplace, and each of these regions expresses a different side of Ethiopian flavour. Together, they create a layered, expressive blend that no single-origin or mixed-origin blend can achieve.
We chose Harrar, Sidamo, and Yirgacheffe because they represent depth, sweetness, and clarity—the three pillars of Ethiopian coffee.
Main Origins:
Ethiopia – Yirgacheffe, Sidamo and Harrar
Drink Choice:
Great as a pour-over, syphon or clean shot espresso. But don’t let that scare you away. Our customers love 3WM as a milk based coffee.
What Each Coffee Brings
 Harrar – The Anchor
Harrar is usually naturally processed and bold. It brings:
-
Blueberry and dried fruit
-
Dark chocolate undertones
-
Wine-like depth
This coffee gives the blend weight and richness. It prevents the cup from feeling light or fragile.
Sidamo – The Bridge
Sidamo sits between bold and delicate. It contributes:
-
Stone fruit sweetness
-
Milk chocolate
-
Gentle citrus
Sidamo links Harrar’s intensity with Yirgacheffe’s clarity. It smooths transitions in the cup.
Yirgacheffe – The High Note
Yirgacheffe is prized for elegance. It delivers:
-
Floral aromatics
-
Lemon and bergamot
-
Clean acidity
This coffee lifts the blend and defines its aroma. It gives Three Wise Men its signature perfume.
How would I rate 3 Wise Men as a latte with milk?
I’d rate it:
🌟 8.5/10
Reasoning:

Flavour clarity: 8/10 – Milk softens the bright floral and citrus notes, but chocolate, caramel, and fruit undertones remain noticeable.
-
Balance with milk: 9/10 – Creaminess rounds the cup perfectly; approachable and smooth.
-
Mouthfeel: 9/10 – Velvety and medium–full body makes it comforting.
-
Acidity & aftertaste: 8/10 – Brightness is subdued but still gives lift; the aftertaste is pleasant and lingering.
-
Overall drinkability: 9/10 – Excellent for daily drinking and friendly for most palates.
Summary: A delicious, balanced latte that highlights the blend without overwhelming the drinker. Slightly less expressive than a piccolo or flat white, but very enjoyable.
Taste:
Characteristics of deep, spice and wine or chocolate-like taste and floral aroma.
