Simple way to identify it

A normal basket = holes in the base
A blind filter = completely sealed flat base

It blocks the water flow so the pressure cleans the:

• shower screen

• solenoid valve

• group passages

• coffee oils inside the head

Honestly, it’s one of the most important daily cleaning tools behind the bar.

Not suitable for all home machines

It is not recommended for many entry-level domestic machines, especially:

• thermoblock machines

• small appliance store machines

• machines without a 3-way valve

• some Breville / Sunbeam domestic units unless the manual specifically allows backflushing

Using a blind basket on the wrong machine can:

• stress the pump

• cause leaks
