250g Yianni’s Greek Coffee
Yianni’s Greek Coffee is a celebration of tradition, craftsmanship, and cultural ritual. This traditional Greek coffee blend is finely milled to an ultra-fine powder and designed for slow brewing without filtration. The result is a deeply aromatic, full-bodied cup with a thick foam layer and lingering finish.
Cirelli Coffee Roasters created Yianni’s Greek Coffee to honour authentic Greek brewing while delivering balance and approachability. The blend combines Sidamo, Yirgacheffe, Harrar, and Brazil. Each origin serves a clear purpose in the cup.
Sidamo provides structure and gentle sweetness. It brings balance and flow to the brew. Yirgacheffe adds floral aroma and soft citrus notes, which lift the nose and first sip. Harrar introduces depth, cocoa tones, and subtle dried fruit, extending the finish. Brazil anchors the blend with chocolate richness and creamy body, ensuring comfort and familiarity.
This traditional Greek coffee blend produces a stable, velvety kaimaki when brewed correctly. Slow heat encourages natural foam formation and preserves aromatic oils.
The flavour profile is bold yet smooth. Expect roasted cocoa, caramelised sweetness, light spice, and a rich mouthfeel. Acidity remains low and balanced, never sharp. The finish is long, warming, and clean when the grounds settle.
Yianni’s Greek Coffee suits moments of pause and connection. It is meant to be sipped slowly, not rushed. Serve it hot in a small cup with a glass of water and a small sweet. Never stir after brewing. Leave the final sip behind.
This traditional Greek coffee blend works best for customers who value ritual, depth, and authenticity. It offers a powerful alternative to espresso while remaining grounded and comforting.

What Is Greek Coffee?
Greek coffee is a traditional, unfiltered coffee brewed very slowly in a small pot called a briki.
The coffee is ground extremely fine, almost like powder. It cannot be grounded on your typical home or cafe grinder. Our grinder is sourced directly from Greece where it is made. Our grinder that we use has 2 x 3kg stones inside that pulverises the beans to a powder like consistancy.Â
It is brewed directly with water and sugar, not filtered or pressed.
The result is a strong, aromatic coffee with a thick foam on top, called kaimaki, and fine grounds that settle at the bottom of the cup (which you don not drink).
Greek coffee is about ritual, patience, and conversation, not speed.
Cirelli Greek coffee is freshly roasted and ground on demand, with its seductive aroma from selected beans it is an excellent blend that provides rich flavour and cream (kaimaki).
How Do You Serve Greek Coffee?
-
Served in a small demitasse cup
-
Always served hot
-
No milk is added
-
Usually served with a glass of cold water
-
Often paired with a small sweet, such as loukoumi or biscotti
You drink it slowly and never finish the last sip, as it contains the grounds or “mud” as we call it.
Foam (Kaimaki)
A hallmark of quality Greek coffee is the foam:
-
Thick, creamy, persistent
-
Forms naturally with slow heating
-
Indicates well-roasted beans and proper grind size
The foam enhances aroma and mouthfeel.
Sugar Levels (Very Important)
It is best not to add sugar after brewing, especially for traditional methods like Greek coffee. This is because it changes the structure, balance, and overall experience of the cup. For this reason, Greek coffee is defined by the amount of sugar added before brewing.
When sugar is added before brewing, it dissolves fully as the coffee heats. As a result, sweetness spreads evenly throughout the cup.
However, when sugar is added after brewing, extraction has already finished. Because of this, you only sweeten the liquid and not the overall flavour balance.
How to ask for a Greek Coffee

Metrios – Medium sweet, 1 small teaspoon
-

-
